Warrior cat name generator

Choose your pelt colour and get your warrior name, from your first days as a kit to the day you become leader.

How your name is built

Every Clan cat’s name is made of two words. The first part, the prefix, is given at birth and usually describes how the kit looks, like its pelt colour, or something from nature. It stays the same for life.

The second part changes as the cat grows up. Kits are named “-kit”, apprentices become “-paw” at six moons old, and new warriors receive a suffix that suits their personality or skills. If a warrior becomes leader, their suffix changes one last time to “-star”.

Frequently asked questions

How do warrior cat names work?

A warrior name has two parts: a prefix that stays with the cat for life, and a suffix that changes with rank. Kits end in “-kit”, apprentices in “-paw”, leaders in “-star”, and warriors get a suffix chosen by their leader.

Is this name generator random?

It picks a random prefix that fits your pelt colour and a random warrior suffix, and it never repeats the same word twice in one name. Press the button as many times as you like until you find a name you love.

Can I use my warrior name for my own fan character?

Yes. The names are made from everyday nature words, so you are free to use them for fan art, stories or roleplay.

Why can’t I get a “-star” name as a warrior?

In the books, “-star” is only given to Clan leaders when they receive their nine lives. The generator shows the leader version of your name separately so you can see it.
